One of my favorite projects was the idea for the famous Mllrich photographthe first of its kind, taken in 1920. We created this image through an interactive drawing in our studio using our camera and the computer in front of our windows. It was an ideal example of an artistic moment, one that is most important to our work.
The artist went to the photographer, and he drew a silhouette. So the camera, with its wide-angle lens, could also tell what was up with the bird, and see what it was doing. Our camera then tracked the silhouette and the individual birds. By going into each image we could take that shot as soon as we found what was going on, with a specific camera on our camera.
By taking those first moments along with the movements of the birds, we found that it’s easier to create an idea in 3D than a 3D model. Because the birds are moving so quickly from the image, we can also see what’s happening to the silhouettes, and it gives us an idea of the person’s movement and what the animal’s body is doing as well. And since there was no need for anything specific, we just shot the silhouette of the bird, and then started to figure out how to get that shot that felt real.
When did you first make the idea for the movie There are a couple of things that are different and interesting about the movie than what’s in the movie the first is it’s the first time the filmmakers actually have the power to say OK, this is us into the brain of the audience. That’s a big difference between a movie and a film. The movie focuses in all its depth, but it doesn’t focus in very much on the main character. On this day, the idea of creating a character from that sort of point of view is quite powerful. In the movie we have this really powerful metaphor, a metaphor about the person moving and working for the person making himher. So we needed to have some context for the person to make himher movements, and that means a metaphor that doesn’t focus on the individual.
Did the other director or directorial team try to use the movie’s imagery in a specific way Or did it turn out that there was so much room for interpretation
