The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently announced it is sending out training to ensure that Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will be conducting surveillance outside the U.S. on all Americans, even those without a foreign security clearance. This is something that seems like a good idea.

However, it makes you wonder if the DHS plan was meant to be a practical strategy for combating ISIS. Or rather, it is to serve as a tool to deter or stop people from getting into government. According to DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, this means DHS will issue a threat alert which will call for the agencies to immediately deploy anti-terrorism agents known as SWAT to conduct surveillance outside the U.S., including to make people aware when they are being targeted.

As many people who are on public assistance for a lack of work know, this is something that the FBI will be doing. Not everyone on public assistance is a terrorist. For starters, most of the people who work at DHS are law enforcement officers so being in the US or anywhere, or on the street, is a crime. This means that police officers who would be on public assistance are in the spotlight of much domestic terrorism activity. This includes terrorism that is targeting women and children. People who have an FBI domestic terrorism training course need to bring up this problem in every government policy.

This was not what the DHS said in the official DHS training statement. This comes from an agency that has long worked to reduce terrorism threat. That includes an assessment by CIA Inspector General John B. White. White did a thorough and thorough investigation of the training program, and in his report, he recommended that DHS conduct additional training in the field of terrorism. DHS also said they will provide additional information regarding what they would have done if the training was to continue. I don’t have a definitive answer to that report, but White did recommend all of DHS’ training be increased, particularly for law enforcement officers.

The DHS is not alone in considering this idea. DHS is also working with the Department of Homeland Security to provide counterterrorism and counter-terrorism training, including on the use of drones
