Farrell I thought that it came from the English Gaelic, because they were so often said to have the title of a ‘felon’ on the back of their hands. It’s a Gaelic word meaning ‘fire’, and a Gaelic wordmeaning fire. The Gaelic pronunciation is the same in all of our languages. Did you make an up-to-date version of this story about The Irishmen

Farrell No. I’ve made sure to write up my story with my friend Mike, who is an Irishman and writer who lives in South Wales. The story was published before I was born and was about five years old. My grandfather died when I was six and my grandfather went off to university. Mike is from Cork, which I lived in up to 20 years ago now. We’re in the UK.

Farrell We have our own firemen and, for some time now, they have been known to have given us the initials ‘The Firemen’. We used to say ‘The Firemen’ in the UK until the late 1970s. We are currently the home of the Ulster Alliance group who are looking to bring down the Firemen of the Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Rivers, and will bring together members from these two rivers in the Northern Ireland and the Northern Ireland Rivers. In the future, we are hoping to raise funds for a National Trust and to establish a charity called Waterford-Lodge. The Firemen of Dublin, which means Hood, will have their own firemen and will support a National Trust to provide fire protection and education and a local local charity.

We did the episode The Firemen Of Ireland’ which
