DUBAI An armed group of about 60 activists from around the world held a rally in the central Arabian country on Wednesday, accusing Pakistan of supporting terrorist groups.

Activists from Bahrain, Libya, Tunisia, the Democratic People’s Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Union of South Sudan (U.N.S.) held a joint rally in Islamabad’s eastern Islamabad district.

The U.N. Security Council on Tuesday night endorsed a resolution condemning the actions of Pakistan by India and the UAE in Kashmir, and issued a resolution calling for India to stop backing terrorist groups.

The protest came after India on Tuesday night accused the Pakistan Army (PA) and its partners of participating in terrorist activities in the country.

The U.N. Security Council said India would intensify its efforts in the field by strengthening its military posture and training troops to protect civilians in the affected areas.

Our position is that any actions by Pakistan which might jeopardize the security of our country would constitute violations of Pakistan’s sovereignty. Moreover, Pakistan does not believe any other country or organization can be trusted to protect its citizens, the resolution said.

In 2014, it stated that Pakistan had given the right to self-defence to all political, religious and territorial actors in disputed Kashmir and demanded the Pakistani government abide by its own constitution’s charter.

On 28 December 2016, two men charged in a bomb-making probe in Bangladesh went to the US border, for allegedly making an American citizen.

According to the chargesheet, on 1 December 2008 a man from Connecticut bought an American man, aged 14, a jagar dhaba. He was arrested, pleaded guilty and served three years on probation. After the two men had exchanged their last few dollars and spent two weeks on US-bound ships in the Maldives, they crossed into the Indian Ocean and set off for Pakistan on 10 December 2008.

But the boat they were travelling in, had exploded and the vessel was damaged.

Their story was told by the Indian media.

The first suspect, known only by his nom de guerre, Imran Khan, 22, of Pakistan’s northwestern tribal region, was found dead of an unprovoked gunshot wound inside a boat in Indian waters.
