A new analysis of the annual U.S. Census Bureau’s annual U.S. college graduation report finds the rate of college graduation has remained steady to about 2 percent for the three quarters ending April 25, 2016.
The report found that the U.S. college graduation rate has remained unchanged since the mid-90s, at about 2 percent and continuing to grow at almost 1 percent.
For three decades, the United Nations has been trying to figure out how to improve and maintain peace and security on the planet. This new report is an effort to do that, says the United Nations Director General, Adra Bouyoun. The report is now called the Millennium Development Goals and is published Wednesday by the UN Office for Coordination and Humanitarian Affairs.
Greed is one of the world’s most pressing problems. And the UN has long been trying to figure out how to ensure its ability by working toward a peaceful settlement in East Africa.
However, the UN itself is not yet on track this year on March 15, the UN set up a peacekeeping unit in Tanzania that could help. On May 15, as part of the Operation Desert Storm initiative in South Sudan, the UN began a pilot program the second deployment and began to deploy a team of UN peacekeepers in Rwanda.
But as the UN tries to make it through to the next phase of the UN mission, the situation in the Darfur Triangle is becoming increasingly tense. The world’s top aid donors are on the brink of a war they’re about to unleash. The U.S., Israel and the EU, the few who might come to them to support peace, are not standing in the way of any peace movement, says Jane O’Meara, senior program officer at the Peace Now Foundation.
We just aren’t making it, agrees O’Meara.
The peacekeepers, which are based in Africa and will be based in Rwanda and the U.S. under the new mission, had been working hard every day of the six months that followed including months of traveling there and other duties that began April 4.
The peacekeepers have been hard-working, said O’Meara.
The peacekeepers are being trained by the U.S. National Peacekeeping Force in Uganda. The U.S. has about 3,800 volunteers in Darfur, plus up to 3,500 U.S. Special Forces.
