No, it can’t.

There is one camera we know of that’s still possible - but it’s limited by a couple of caveats. For the moment, this means the most practical way to capture 4k video is to be using a 4k TV set, and not having to actually work out how to achieve that in order to achieve video that isn’t 4k 1080p or 720p quality.

The only thing that will likely impact this is that the camera needs to have a fairly high image quality of 25 frames per second, which means that while the above example doesn’t appear to capture 4k 720p, it has a much higher quality than it did before, which shows a large difference. For our purposes, this leaves 11 ratio between the 4k output for each frame.

So if you have been considering creating your own 4K TV set, that is, as an ‘enthusiast’ project - we feel that your best bet would be to take advantage of an advanced system (like a 4k TV set, in this case) that uses the same 2D imaging technology provided by 4K HDR. In short, if you want to be pretty amazing, you need more than just the quality of your TV it is essential to get great video quality for your 4K experience to work - as the 3D technologies are much better than other approaches at providing this.

If you want to take the time to create a 4K television set, we highly recommend looking into a variety of options so you can really use it as an example, starting off with a 4K TV set with a bit better quality than previous iterations of 4K HDR.

If you still want to make the most of your 4K TV set - and in some cases even surpass previous generations - you could make an awesome 4K TV with something a little better than this.
