How is my violin playing different

In a way it’s different. And as a teenager you might not get it as much as you might not have dreamed it would. So I’ve been really careful with that I was always looking for something that wouldn’t be outstripped by the big, big things in life. I’ve always wanted something that was special, even though it was a little odd.

How do I keep my violin practice going

It’s not always as easy as it sounds. I get into things pretty much every day, from having to do chores to being on my lunch shift. I just can’t get over the pain and boredom, but sometimes I just can’t stop talking.

How much time do you spend with your violin before and after you practice

It’s actually much shorter. I’m just doing less work, mainly, so that I get to see my friends and work on what I want to do. But sometimes not as much.

How did you end up in a violin band

I just signed a big contract, with a bunch of friends that I really enjoy. When they started working for me, I had a lot of fun. And then when people started coming around on the job, I learned a lot.

And did you make friends with those musicians, or not

No. We didn’t live together and we didn’t talk about anything. I had a couple close relatives, but no one ever really knew each other.

Is there any special music that you really enjoy

Yeah, the music by the band I love. You see, I’m a big fan of jazz and guitar music. My brother does too. One of my biggest favorite tunes is Dry Wind. I like that kind of stuff too.

Tell me about the process of making music together, what kind of influences are there each musician has to work with

It’s an amazing process, you really get into it and the guys who work with you are truly just great musicians. I think I’ve never met someone that was as talented as me, or even as strong as myself. I have a long history of trying and failing as a guitarist. So my music isn’t about that. It’s about being good at it.

Do you have any particular hobbies, things on that are beyond the band

I play golf.
